Delicate white traces descend like threads of light through layered atmosphere - a landscape emerges in gradations from pearl sky to slate-blue mist to golden-lit forest at the horizon, while luminous pathways zigzag downward as if stitching heaven to earth. Behind the Veils reveals what the series title promises: the translucent layers between worlds, the gossamer boundaries separating visible from invisible, known from mystery. As Kathryn Weill moved with her camera at twilight's threshold, she captured light as it navigates through veils of air, mist, and atmosphere, creating a portrait of reality as layered revelation.
The golden trees glow at the meeting place between earth and sky, illuminated witnesses to the dance of light through gradations of blue and amber. This is the essential vision of the series made literal - behind what we think we see lies depth upon depth of beauty, each veil both concealing and revealing what lies beyond. In our time of surface obsessions and instant visibility, this image whispers of patience, of the slow unveiling that comes when we attend to subtlety.
