I KNEW YOU ALIVE, ELECTRIC, EXCITED
Magenta moves fast here. Not the contemplative arcs of previous works, not the gathered stillness of forms finding each other - this light crosses the frame with the directness of recognition, the kind that happens before thinking catches up. The blue dots embedded along the central band hold their precise intervals even at this velocity, structure persisting inside urgency. Below, amber traces a quieter parallel path, present but unhurried, as if memory and immediate experience are traveling the same direction at different speeds.
To know someone alive is a specific kind of knowing. Not knowing about them, not knowing what they think or believe or prefer, but knowing the particular quality of their aliveness, the electric signature of their presence in a room before they've said a word. Kathryn Weill's camera caught light at exactly that moment of recognition: moving, charged, the warm atmospheric haze above suggesting the residue that certain presences leave simply by passing through a space. The amber trail below is what remains after the electricity. Both are forms of the same knowing. One arrives in an instant. The other accumulates slowly, across time, into something that can be trusted absolutely.
