IN THE BEGINNING

IN THE BEGINNING

Silver-white light cascades in diagonal torrents with countless parallel trajectories flowing like primordial rain, like the first particles organizing themselves into pattern, like creation's initial gesture repeating itself infinitely across darkness. In the Beginning captures the moment before distinction, when light hasn't yet differentiated into color, when movement follows only the simplest law: downward, together, in streams so numerous they suggest abundance beyond counting. As Kathryn Weill's camera met this cascade of photons, the quantum field revealed itself in its most elemental state - pure luminous flow, the ur-pattern from which all complexity emerges.

This is vertigo's origin point - standing witness to the beginning, when everything that will become has not yet separated into individual identity but flows as undifferentiated radiance. The diagonal sweep suggests both gravity and grace, both falling and flowing, the way creation moves not randomly but with direction even before intention. In times when we're overwhelmed by complexity, this image returns us to the simplicity that preceded everything - in the beginning, there was light, and it moved, and its movement created the first pattern. The silver streams glow with potential not yet actualized, with the dizzying recognition that all distinctions we now hold dear - self and other, here and there, now and then - emerged from this: pure light choosing to flow, the first yes that made all subsequent questions possible.
